Galaxy Aviation
Announces Winner of Great Porsche Giveaway
ORLANDO,
Fla. (Oct. 8, 2003) - The winner of Galaxy Aviation's Great
Porsche Giveaway Contest was announced today at the Orange County
Convention Center.
Jerry
Ragsdale (right with wife Valerie) president of Guardian Air
Service, Fulton County Airport-Brown Field Airport, Atlanta, was
selected by random drawing as the winner of a 2003 Porsche Boxster.
Ragsdale, a
pilot for over 40 years, said he almost didn't enter the contest.
"The young lady behind the counter prompted me to enter,"
he said. "I've never won anything in my life. I'm totally blown
away by this. I think it's just a wonderful thing. Many thanks to
Galaxy Aviation." Ragsdale received a paid two-year lease on
the car.
Murry
Smith (left, with Galaxy employees), Editor & Publisher
of Professional Pilot Magazine, presided over the drawing,
which capped off Galaxy Aviation's participation in the 2003 NBAA
Convention. "This contest was our way of saying thank you to
our customers," said Galaxy Aviation's Chairman of the Board,
Martin Greenberg. "We know pilots tend to like sports
cars, and we wanted to give our customers the chance to win one
of the hottest sports cars on the road today."
Participants
had the opportunity to register for the Great Porsche Giveaway Contest
all summer at Galaxy Aviation's locations in West Palm Beach (PBI),
Boca Raton (Boca Aviation, BCT), Stuart (SUA), and Orlando (MCO),
as well as at Galaxy Aviation's booth at the NBAA Convention. Ragsdale
said he registered for the drawing at Galaxy Aviation of Orlando.
During the Convention,
Galaxy Aviation of Orlando (MCO) provided complimentary continental
breakfasts, barbeque lunches and free shuttle service to and from
the Convention Center. Galaxy Aviation also donated 10 cents from
each gallon of fuel purchased by NBAA members to NBAA's 7th Annual
Chairman's Charity Classic Golf Tournament to benefit the Arnold
Palmer Hospital for Women & Children
