Galaxy Aviation of Stuart Expands To Meet Customer Demand

STUART, Fla. (Sept. 2002) - Due to overwhelming customer demand, Galaxy Aviation will undertake further expansion of its fixed-base operation at Witham Field (SUA) in Stuart during 2002-2003.

Improvements at Galaxy Aviation of Stuart will include an automobile parking lot expansion and two additional active ramp area expansions, totaling over one acre. As part one of its three-phase area development, the operation also will add 200,000 square feet of aircraft parking. Future plans for phase three also include the addition of 32,000 square feet of hangar storage space and 7,000 square feet of executive office space.

The Stuart Florida Airport (KSUA) also has made many recent improvements that will benefit guests of Galaxy Aviation of Stuart. Security fencing has been completed, security guards have been added at the airport, and improvements have been made to taxiways, runways, and lighting. A new control tower was finished last year, and a new airport maintenance facility is currently under construction. The first phase of the airport perimeter road has been completed, with the second phase set to start soon.

Galaxy Aviation of Stuart features a National Air Transportation Association Safety 1st certified ramp staff and uses only Certified Tow Operators. In addition, Galaxy Aviation has its own in-house safety and training officer who administrates and conducts line service programs and policies.

David Smith, President of Galaxy Aviation of Stuart, attributes the operation's success to the staff's commitment to service and safety. "Our people are our best-performing asset," Smith said. "We have pilots telling us they judge other FBOs they visit using us as the service level gauge."
